TLC visits ABANSA to Create Murals

Print PDF

03Last Saturday 20 students from TLC got together to visit the ABANSA farm. We drove about an hour to get there. As soon as we arrived, we saw all the happy faces of the kids. We all realized that they had been waiting for this moment. After that, with the help of Mrs. Scheer we gathered all the painting materials and paired up with the ABANSA kids. We directly started painting murals. We spent about two hours in the hot sun, sweating and having fun painting. From there, it was time for us to clean up. This was a challenge, due to the fact that their water was pumped from a river into a tank. We didn’t want to waste their water. Following the clean up, everyone was hungry and ready to eat lunch. Thanks to Mrs. Anyuanett, who prepared the lasagna, we were able to share an amazing lunch. Ending the day we all played different sports like soccer, volleyball, and a game similar to baseball called Pelotica de Goma.  Saying goodbye was a combination of feeling happy and sad at the same time. It feels depressing to leave the ABANSA boys but knowing we will see them soon made us feel relief.
