Grades one and two have been busy all year learning to be better readers and writers. A simple way to do this is practice, practice, practice. Have you thought about writing to explain your math? Here at CIPLC we have been doing this daily. Writing in math allows us to practice the use of new vocabulary, and improve on not only our math but our reading and writing too!
Five easy steps you as a parent can be doing to help your child:
- read daily
- discuss what you are reading
- write daily
- practice your child’s facts with them
- play simple math games together
