Mission, Goals, and Objectives
Every student deserves to become: a competent and avid reader, a competent user of all forms of technology used in the information society and a student schooled in the research process.
(Dr. David Loertscher, Past President of American Association of School Librarians)
At the CIPLC Library, we are committed to inspiring a love of reading within students. When reading becomes a habit of mind, students have a greater chance of success in school and in life. They go beyond decoding and comprehension to interpretation, and ultimately develop new understandings about the world around them.

The CIPLC library is a bright, spacious, facility serving all students from preschool to grade 12. With over 9,000 volumes, five student computers with Internet access, a printer, and wireless networking, the library is the place where students come to learn and to relax.
The library is open from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. A full time librarian is always available to answer questions, help with research, or assist students in finding just the right book. The CIPLC Library supports teaching, learning, and research in an intellectually and culturally open environment, providing instruction in the use of traditional and new information technologies that enhance and reinforce the school curriculum.

Furthermore, we seek to develop educational technology and research skills while fostering in our students a lifelong passion for learning. Students who successfully use technology to acquire information are more likely to lead successful, meaningful lives in the 21st century.
Finally, we endeavor to support the curricular, informational, recreational, and research needs of students and faculty members by maintaining a collection that is both multi-ethnic and multimedia. All children deserve equitable access to information, and the school library can provide the resources and tools required for learning in a warm, stimulating and safe environment.
The Library will achieve these goals by providing staff and students with access to a collection of appropriate materials that addresses their diverse needs, interests, and learning/teaching styles. Access shall be made possible through cataloging, purchase of reference sources, and instruction in proper library usage.
The Library Media Center will strive at all times to:
